The story of Cultus

Csaba (guitar) and Balázs (drums) were the main organizers. They played music together through the years. So many times they dreamed about a group wich will play just the songs of The Cult, but they had to wait until 2004. In may they started to rehearse with Berti (guitar), Zoli(bass) and Tibi(vocal), and after a short time the dream became reality. On the 7th of August the Cultus made its first gig ever in an underground venue called Gyáripari Romantika (meaning Industrial Romantic). It was a very special birthday party of one of Csaba’s friends. About 8 groups played from dusk till dawn! It was a  bit taste of the early 80’s punk-rock feeling.

On September, Laci (background) entered the band, and the Cultus started its „autumn tour” consisting of six stations. The shows were getting longer and better gig by gig.

The following year we started in the studio and played a demo track consisting of three songs.

After the studiowork it happened at once that the greatest show until that moment had taken place  in the history of the Cultus. We played together with hungarian star guests at Wigwam, one of the biggest rock venues in East-Europe. After that, we were in Serbia, in a small town called Senta, and made a hot show with the collaboration of a real rock audience. Through that year we played at motocycling festivals, special birthday parties (again), the greatest international festivals in Hungary  (VOLT and SZIGET), open air venues, small rock pubs, and at the end of the year we went back to play for two times in Wigwam.

2006: DREAMTIME! The Cult came in our country and played at the same festival (VOLT) as we did a year before. Each member of the Cultus was on the frontline of the audience, and felt how the real wild rock pumps up their veins. Return to wild! Yes, it’s true! They show us the way, how we should play! We should try to follow them…

…and try to complete this passage with our individual imagines…
